vTime XR Launches on Quest and Quest 2

(Liverpool, UK – November 5th, 2020) vTime, a global leader in virtual communications and immersive multi-user experiences, today launches its cross reality social network, vTime XR, on Quest and Quest 2.

vTime XR is a sociable network that allows anyone, anywhere to hang out with family and friends in intimate and immersive virtual destinations. The world’s first cross-reality social app, vTime XR enables users to choose from VR, AR or Magic Window modes to connect with friends. The app, which today launches on Quest and Quest 2, introduced new co-watching feature Theaters back in June, making it possible for users to watch curated content together in destinations such as the Sports Bar and Video Bowl.

vTime Managing Director Clemens Wangerin said: "We are delighted to add Quest to the lineup of platforms that the vTime XR experience is available for. Newcomers to the network will find a high-quality social experience unlike any other, with a focus on small group conversations in beautifully realised 3D worlds and a range of media sharing options. With a set of user-friendly options and permissions that puts everyone in control over who they interact with and how, vTime XR creates a unique, safe and intimate experience."

As well as getting vTime XR Quest-ready, vTime launched a new social AR app, vTag, globally last week on iOS. The app is the next step in vTime’s mission to connect the world through digital experiences that are as powerful as face-to-face interactions. vTag is the first and only app to combine highly customisable, face-tracked, body-tracked, full-body avatars with AR geo-messaging. The app empowers users to create and style bespoke avatars, then bring their detailed creations to life using their voice, expressions, and body movements in a vTag – a sharable 3D moment.

vTime also recently announced their involvement with hubraum - the tech incubator of Deutsche Telekom - and Nreal’s Mixed Reality Program to bring their unique social avatars to the masses as holograms via the Nreal Lite headset.

vTime XR is free to use and available to download now for Oculus Quest and Quest 2, Android, iPhone, Google Cardboard, Oculus Go, Samsung Gear VR, Windows Mixed Reality, Daydream View, and Oculus Rift.
