Celebrating National Video Games Day

National Video Games Day has arrived, and here at vTime, we are taking a moment to reflect on our journey into the gaming industry.

What is National Video Games Day?

National Video Games Day is a day dedicated to appreciating the world of games, celebrated on September 12th. It’s a time for gamers to immerse themselves in their favourite games and recognise the creativity, fun, and connections gaming brings. Whether you're a casual player or a dedicated fan, it’s a day to celebrate the joy of gaming!

Evolving into Games

We love being a part of this ever-changing world, creating boundary-pushing immersive technology. But where did it begin?

vTime was established 13 years ago by Martin Kenwright and is staffed and led by AAA veterans from Evolution Studios, Sony’s Studio Liverpool, Traveller’s Tales, Bizarre Creations and more. vTime started to create spatial experiences in AR, VR, and XR. We continued to develop these technologies that enable everything from avatar creation to world-building, laying the groundwork for our next big adventure: video games.

Enter vTime Games

Having developed advanced systems for building digital worlds and bringing avatars to life, a question emerged: why not combine this cutting-edge technology with our rich history in gaming? Enter vTime Games and our first gaming project developed for Team17 Digital — Border Bots VR.

Border Bots VR takes players on a thrilling journey where they can immerse themselves in a futuristic, dystopian world filled with robots, challenges, and mystery. Players inspect, analyse, then approve or deny robots for entry into the border in this absurd simulation-puzzle game.

We Love Games

There’s no denying, there is magic in making games. As developers, we’re not just building worlds—we’re crafting experiences that engage, challenge, and inspire players.

Why do we love making games?

Because they allow us to bring worlds to life that previously only existed in our imaginations. Video games blur the lines between storytelling and participation, making us all part of the adventure.

Why do we love playing games?

Games bring us together. In a world where connection is more important than ever, video games allow us to create, compete, and collaborate with others all across the globe.

Celebrating National Video Games Day

At vTime Games, we’re excited to keep shaping the future of gaming, developing more games for you all to play. Happy National Video Games Day!
