vTime, a global leader in virtual communication and immersive multi-user experiences, today announces an expansion into North America with the hire of notable industry expert Brian Blau, who joins as senior vice president.
Located in San Francisco, vTime’s newly formed US office will be led by Blau, formerly research vice president at Gartner. Blau joins the executive team to develop strategic partnerships and expansion opportunities, as well as manage and build out the US-based team.
A recognised technologist, Blau has held several senior positions at companies such as Autodesk, Silicon Graphics and Double Fusion, and most recently as a Gartner analyst, serving as lead for Apple and other augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies. One of the most quoted technology analysts for the past eight years, Blau provided key insights on personal technologies for consumers, and on business to C-Level executives and brands globally.
vTime’s international expansion marks the next phase in a milestone year. The company secured Series A funding of $7.6 million in 2018 to accelerate global growth and product development, and to fuel research and development for the brand’s AR experience, coming early in 2019. The US base is pivotal in realising the company’s ambitions to be the leading immersive technology engagement platform for consumers and businesses.
vTime Managing Director Clemens Wangerin said: “Brian’s unique insights and background will give us an edge, accelerating our transformation of the way people communicate and engage with each other through vTime’s consumer products and enabling technologies.”
vTime Senior Vice President Brian Blau said: “I’m beyond excited to join vTime and help lead the company into its next phase as we establish a presence on the US west coast. The talented team and technology behind vTime are well positioned for success, and with them I’m looking forward to bringing sociable immersive experiences to the market.”
